INSTALLATION OF SOLAR PANELS

Tips for installing solar panels

Some of the questions that you should answer before starting a photovoltaic solar panel installation project:

The first is whether you are physically able to carry out this project? Since the installation of solar panels on a roof is not easy at all, it is very dangerous and on certain types of roofs one can risk one’s life.

In addition, the fixing of the plates and supports must be done very conscientiously, since in a strong gust of wind the entire installation could fly away and it would be very easy to damage people or property outside your property and a misfortune could occur enormous.

Another consideration to take into account is whether you are technically qualified to carry out the electrical installation of the entire system? Since otherwise you can cause a considerable electrical accident.

Our recommendation is that you ask us for a quote and you will see that the difference between doing it yourself and having us do it for you is minimal and hundreds of problems will be avoided.

Once these considerations have been assessed, if you want to continue with the installation of your project? We help you with some basic recommendations.

Where can I buy solar panels?
You can buy solar panels from different solar energy companies and even online stores. Our company can sell you solar panels at the best prices, if you wish?

Where to install solar panels?
Solar panels are usually installed on rooftops, building roofs, or freestanding installations. It is very important to install your solar panel in a place that receives the most direct solar exposure and if possible facing south.

Solar panels work at their full capacity when placed in direct sunlight. When installing your solar power system, try to place your PV panels directly in the midday sun to get the most efficiency from your PV unit.

Before installation, beware of any obstruction to sunlight. Remove all obstructions and unnecessary items, such as branches, that may block sunlight to your solar unit. You should also trace the path of the sun in the sky and make sure there are no objects that could cast a shadow on your solar PV panels. The operating efficiency of your solar power unit will be affected by this shade.

Types of Solar Panel Mounts

Solar panel brackets are used to install photovoltaic panels. These brackets are available in 3 main types:

Post supports.
Floor to ceiling mounts.
Recessed mounts.
With the help of these brackets, you can mount your solar panel on the roof or against the side of a pole on your roof. You can even install them as a stand-alone unit.

Things to do before solar panel installation

Cost calculation
The first step is to calculate the cost involved in configuring the type and size of the system. Remember that the governments of different countries around the world offer subsidies to encourage the installation of solar panels and the use of renewable energy. This subsidy is different in each country. For example, the subsidy offered by Spain is totally different from the subsidy in Italy or France.

Necessary equipment
The second step is to make a checklist of the equipment needed for a solar power system: solar panels, charge controller, power inverter, and battery.

System size
The next step is to determine the size of the solar system required. You should add up the watts of all the electrical appliances you plan to use. Estimate how many hours a day the appliances will be used.

By following the steps above, you will be able to know the power requirement, the size of the solar battery needed, and the size of the cable. Remember that the correct size of cables will prevent overheating of the cables and ensure maximum power transfer to your batteries.

Solar panel installation guide: step by step process

Solar panels can be used to generate electricity for both commercial and domestic use. In both cases, the photovoltaic panel is installed on the roof to obtain the maximum possible sunlight and generate the maximum electricity from the system.

Following steps involved in the installation process:

Step 1: Installation and assembly of the system
The first step is to fix the supports that will hold the Solar Panels. They can be ceiling to floor mounts or flush mounts depending on the requirement. This base structure provides support and sturdiness. Care is taken with the direction in which the photovoltaic panels (monocrystalline or polycrystalline) will be installed. For countries in the northern hemisphere, the best direction to look at solar panels is south because it receives the most sunlight. East and West directions will also work. For countries in the southern hemisphere, the best direction is north.

Again, the mounting frame should be slightly tilted. The tilt angle could be between 18 and 36 degrees. Many companies use a solar tracker to increase conversion efficiency.

Step 2: Install Solar Panels
The next step is to fix the solar panels with the mounting frame. This is done by tightening nuts and bolts. Care is taken to secure the entire structure properly so that it is strong and lasts for a long time.

Step 3 – Do the Electrical Wiring
The next step is to do the electrical wiring. Universal connectors like MC4 are used during wiring because these connectors can be connected with all kinds of solar panels. These panels can be electrically connected to each other in the following series:

Series connection: In this case, the positive cable (+) of a photovoltaic module is connected to the negative cable (-) of another module. This type of wiring increases the voltage match with the battery bank.

Series connection: In this case, the positive cable (+) of a photovoltaic module is connected to the negative cable (-) of another module. This type of wiring increases the voltage match with the battery bank.
Parallel connection: In this case, the connection is made from positive (+) to positive (+) and from negative (-) to negative (-). This type of wiring voltage of each panel remains the same.

Step 4 – Connect the System to the Solar Inverter
The next step is to connect the system to a solar inverter. The positive cable of the solar panel is connected to the positive terminal of the inverter and the negative cable is connected to the negative terminal of the inverter.

Then the solar inverter connects to the input of the solar battery and the grid to produce electricity.

Step 5 – Connect Solar Inverter and Solar Battery
The next step is to connect the solar inverter and solar battery. The positive terminal of the battery connects to the positive terminal of the inverter and the negative to the negative. Battery is needed in off grid solar system to store electricity backup.

Step 6 – Connect the Solar Inverter to the Grid
The next step is to connect the inverter to the grid. To make this connection, a normal plug is used to connect to the main power switch board. An outlet cable is connected to the electrical panel that supplies electricity to the house.

Step 7: Start the solar inverter
Now that all the electrical wiring and connections are done, it’s time to turn on the inverter switch at the main breaker in the house. Most solar inverters will have a digital display to show you statistics on the generation and usage of the solar unit.
